I was out for almost 10km walk this morning with my #rottweiler #Dipsi. Its been almost no #snow so she have mostly #played in the #soft #fields . Today we walked on #gravel that had been soft but# frozen hard during the #night and the #stones was like #knives. I noticed she #limped a bit when we got back but thought it was just that she was #tired. She went to lay down right away and I checked but could not find anything. I tried to comfort her and actually we both fell #asleep. I was woken by the #phone and got up. Still she was not looking to be in top shape. Still could not see anything. But later in the #afternoon when looking the pawns swollen and red. I had to carry hear to the #car and into the vet. There he gave hear some #lotion and put on “socks” and then #massaged the legs to increase blood flow. He changed the socks and used several lotions and in the last one he used #cortisone lotion and put on socks. She is now not in pain but need to wear socks overnight and when we are out for the next 5 days. I usually use socks when we are out on icy snow but now learned its also sometimes needed on #frozen gravel on long trips. #Hope this will help others.
